Interactive Brokers Group, Inc. was founded by its Chairman and CEO Thomas Peterffy. Over the last 32 years, it has grown internally to become one of the premier securities firms with over $4 billion in equity capital.

Interactive Brokers conducts its broker/dealer and proprietary trading businesses on over 70 market destinations worldwide. In its broker dealer agency business, IB provides direct access (”on line”) trade execution and clearing services to institutional and professional traders for a wide variety of electronically traded products including stocks, options, futures, forex, bonds and funds worldwide. In its proprietary trading business IB engages in market making for its own account in about 6,500 different electronically traded products. Interactive Brokers Group and its affiliates execute approximately 1,000,000 trades per day.

Interactive Brokers’ headquarters are in Greenwich Connecticut, and it has about 650 employees in its offices in the USA, Switzerland, Canada, Hong Kong, UK, Australia, Hungary, Russia and Estonia. IB is regulated by the SEC, FINRA, NYSE, SFA and other regulatory agencies around the world.

COMMISSSION:
The site offers two methods of commission; unfortunately they are laid out in very complex tables and are varied for specific worldwide locations, making it difficult to mention any examples, however with the other benefits available on the site it is worth checking through the tables to see if the site proves usable for you.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Available for contact 24 hours via phone worldwide is a real plus side to their customer service, and along with this there are the options of inquiry by email and live chat available from 9am through until 5pm Monday to Friday. In all the customer service offered is definitely above average.

TRADE TOOLS & SERVICES:
A selection of software is on offer here including webtrader and mobile trader, also the trader workstation which is available as a download, or for use online in the web browser. Other services offered include direct market access for stocks, options, futures, Forex, bonds and funds, and in addition to this they have a great choice for education including webinars, an online university, an education centre, news and reports making it a great place to improve knowledge or start out your trading education.

WEBSITE & ACCOUNT SECURITY
The security features are fairly standard, with SSL encryption, use of firewalls, and strict employment policies in place for their staff, this doesn´t make it a highlight of the site, but is satisfactory enough to be with them and educate yourself with the resources they have at your disposal.

I like their TWS platform. Plus they have the api for trading automation.
Very good execution speed compared to fidelity.
Plus, cheap commission.
They have a bit less research tool, but you can always get tools from other places.
